DOCUMENTSThe revised DBNA Neighborhood Plan was unanimously approved by the Boise City Council Tuesday, October 2, 2007. It can be downloaded in its entirety here as a 5MB Adobe Acrobat file. Over the past 3 years, hundreds of DBNA members and area residents have attended City Council and School District meetings, and sent letters and e-mails to elected representatives to voice their opinions on the direction of our neighborhood. Those opinions have a similar theme: Preserve the quality of life we have in the Depot Bench area and have respect for the people who live here. Karan Lockhart, Kay Reed, Martha Borchers, and Karen Marker spent countless hours and attended dozens of meetings with city staff to develop this plan. As you read the plan, you will see that the above philosophy and ideas that have been expressed time and again are incorporated in the document. Input from City Council and Planning and Zoning Staff was included to give the plan the legal terminology needed to be a living and enforceable document. Thank you Karan, Kay, Martha and Karen for your tenacity and for working with everyone involved to come up with an excellent plan which the whole neighborhood can be proud of. Thank you to members and residents of the DBNA who provided valuable input. Thank you to the City Council and Mayor for supporting this plan. As Mayor Bieter stated earlier this year, this plan is a legal document and does have the force of law in many circumstances. It is an important document for our neighborhood and its approval is an important event!
