Spirit of Boise Balloon Classic
The Spirit of Boise Balloon Classic is a beloved Boise tradition celebrating its 35th anniversary in 2026. Held annually at Ann Morrison Park, the event fills the morning sky with dozens of colorful hot air balloons, accompanied by music and local radio stations. Weather permitting, launches typically begin around 7:15 a.m. and continue through about 9 a.m.
One of the best ways to enjoy the spectacle is from Crescent Rim Dr, where you can get a great panoramic view of the balloons rising over Ann Morrison Park and soaring above downtown Boise. The event also features a special Nite Glow, opportunities to meet the balloon pilots, and free tethered balloon rides for kids on Kid's Day (Wednesday 2nd Sept).
It’s a quintessential Boise experience—and an especially memorable sight from Crescent Rim Dr high above the city.
