ACHD Seeks Volunteers for Advisory Committees

Multiple Volunteer Opportunities Available on ACHD Advisory Committees

ADA COUNTY — The Ada County Highway District is currently accepting applications for multiple open positions on three of its advisory committees.

ACHD's ADA Advisory Committee, Bicycle Advisory Committee, and Pedestrian Advisory Group each have open seats.

The ADA Advisory Committee serves as a liaison between ACHD, local municipalities, community organizations, and the public. The committee advises the ACHD Commission on accessibility and ADA-related issues and provides valuable input on roadways and pedestrian facilities within the District’s jurisdiction.

The Bicycle Advisory Committee is comprised of a broad cross-section of bicyclists of all ages, abilities, and mode types. The BAC advises the District about new road designs, roadway maintenance needs specific to bicyclists, and other bicycling-related issues.

The Pedestrian Advisory Group provides guidance to the District about issues and projects, as well as opportunities to implement innovative solutions for ACHD's procedures and practices. Members possess diverse backgrounds, come from different areas of Ada County, and are interested in the needs of pedestrians.

Applicants for all committees must reside in Ada County and be available to attend regular committee meetings, which are typically held once a month. All positions are volunteer opportunities.

Applications for each committee are due by the end of the day on Friday, October 9. Once applications close, each committee will review respective applicants and vote to recommend finalists to the ACHD Commission for appointment.
